Lilah Love by Lisa Renee Jones - books 1 to 8

I hadn't come across Lisa Renee Jones before but couldn't resists this boxset when it came up on Netgalley - EIGHT books in one go and no wait in-between!!! Reading through the whole series, I feel that you really need to read them as pairs to avoid any frustrating cliff hangers. All books build on each other, and the storyline felt more 'complete' after every second book. Murder Notes (1) and Murder Girl (2) Murder Notes provides a fantastic start to the Lilah Love series. All the key characters are introduced.  Lilah is the sought after profiler at the FBI. She has a cunning way to 'speak with' dead bodies and to think like a killer. She also has a romantic past with Kane, who we're repeatedly told is NOT the lead of the Mendez cartel... Other key characters include Lilah's family who all work for the police force and not really approve of her links with Kane. We are also introduced to the many victims and their families as Lilah is trying to follow le...

Crisis Communication Strategies by Amanda Coleman

I requested this book to widen my general knowledge of communication strategies in a crisis situation, and as expected this book delivers! Coleman has included lots of examples and lists of things to do at the various stages of a crisis, but the strongest message throughout the book (at least to me) is TO PREPARE!!! Don't wait until a crisis has occurred to figure out what to do. Also, ensure that all key people and departments are involved in the preparation of the strategies. This increases awareness and creates buy-in. The second key message that I picked up, is that to successfully manage a crisis the focus needs to be on PEOPLE! They know that something has happened, so don't try to deny the crisis. In today's social media intense reality, news of the crisis will travel fast! Thirdly, share as much information as possible - start with the mindset that everything can and should be shared with those affected by the crisis (victims), employees, stakeholder and media.  All...

My Billionaire Fake Boyfriend by Jennifer St. James

Entertaining beach / holiday feel good read, especially if you love dogs, lots of them! Maisie is completely down to earth, focused on rescuing dogs including taking them in as well as helping out at the local rescue centre.  Brad is the billionaire living next door and busy improving his social media image whilst not actually being that keen on being in the limelight during his personal time. Likeable, and definitely not as much of a twat as some billionaires in other romance stories.  TikTok and online presence are key for both Maisie and Brad and they find a way to help each other.  Sweet and adorable story; perfect for escaping the world for a while.  #MyBillionaireFakeBoyfriend #NetGalley

Long Enough to Love You by Kirsten Pursell

I've been so busy reading books that I haven't had a chance to write reviews in quite some time. Let's see how many I can get done this week! Long Enough to Love You is written by Kirsten Pursell. I received this as an ARC via Netgalley. Whilst being a mum and a wife, Jenn has lost what SHE is. Jenn has been so busy raising their children, helping them to carve out their niches, find their purpose, find their reasons for being, creating a map for them to circumnavigate their lives - that she has lost herself in the process. With the children now leaving the home she has built and taken care of, she's starting to question her whole existence and trying to find Jenn, not the mum, not the wife, not the house keeper.  Throughout the time of the children growing up she let her happiness play second fiddle to the overall harmony of her family. And as she points out, she would do it all over again as she loves her family including her husband Mark who's always loved her j...
