Big Bad Boss: Midnight, by Renee Rose and Lee Savino

First things first: This book ends with a cliff hanger and after getting over that frustration, it leaves you wanting to hurry up the authors to publish the next one, and the one after that in this Werewolves of Wall Street trilogy. Brick, the lead male, is the stereotypical billionaire a-hole, going through assistants quicker than he changes his underwear - well, that's until Madison comes along and puts him in his place. She's bright, sassy and knows what she wants - enough money to pay her brother's tuition fees and to do some under cover research.   Big Bad Boss: Midnight is an amazingly well written and captivating shifter story mixing hotness and business; a shame it ended with a cliffhanger. It's publishing tomorrow 29 February 2024. #BigBadBoss #NetGalley

Eventuellt uppsåt - att döda ortens gangsters by Jan Guillou

"Eventuellt uppsåt - att döda ortens gangsters" - freely translated as "Possible intent - to kill off the local baddies". This is another amazing book by Jan Guillou!!! It would be amazing if this really is part of a new series - bring on more Ponti and Hamilton, and Tanguy for that matter!  “The older I get, the better I was” 😂 I always enjoy reading Guillou's books - the story line is tight, unexpected and his language extremely rich - perfect to keep my Swedish alive, whilst at the same time getting reminded of events that has taken place in Sweden.  Keep writing - don't feed the pigeons!! I wish someone would translate all of the Hamilton series, so non Swedish speakers could enjoy these fantastic stories and realise who heavily inspired the more recent Swedish crime writers.

Den som dödade helvetets änglar by Jan Guillou

"Den som dödade helvetets änglar by Jan Guillou" - freely translated as " The one who killed the angels in hell". A bit late to reading this, but what a treat!!!  His language is beautiful, the connections to true events and living people are spot on, and the criticism of governments thought-provoking and necessary in a democratic-ish society.  Written in a completely different style to his other Hamilton and Ponti books i loved this one! I’ve already got the next one downloaded and will hopefully be in for another treat.  This book is so far only available in Swedish - unfortunately similar to most of Guillou's fabulous books!

Hard Power, by J.B. Turner (Jon Reznick #12)

Action, intrigue, and some politics mixed into another fab Jon Reznick thriller. This is the twelfth in the series but it can be read as a standalone.  This time it's Jon's go-to hacker and computer genius Trevelle that's in trouble. Trevelle contacts Jon to ask for help after his Chinese girl friend fell / got pushed into the tracks. A parallell legal system with Chinese police station is revealed and it all feels very close to a possible real situation which makes the story even better.  To find the culprits, the relationship between Martha (FBI) and Jon is tested yet again in this story - but this time it's Martha's career that's at stake. With the pressure piling up, will she be loyal to Jon or look after herself first?  Highly recommended. The Jon Reznick thrillers are available on Kindle Unlimited and you may as well subscribe for a month or so, to read them all! Hard Power will be published on 12 March 2024, but can be preordered now. #HardPower #NetGalle...

All Our Tomorrows by Catherine Bybee

All Our Tomorrows by Catherine Bybee is the first in the Heirs series and it ends on a cliffhanger or at least with plenty of unfinished business to be sorted.  Chase and Alex are mentioned in their deceased father's will, but so is a third child, a step sibling neither of them new anything about. With tremendous help from their assistant, they eagerly start hunting for the unknown sibling so they can claim the estate.  It seemed naive at times, that they'll find them and then run the company together as a happy family... What if they are not at all interested or want all for them self? Well, we never find that out in this book as it ends before it gets to that part.  Well paced, great characters, a few laughs, some romance and unexpected twists make this a great first book in the series. Pre-order your copy now for delivery on 18 June 2024. #AllOurTomorrows #NetGalley

The Underground Library by Jennifer Ryan

Having thoroughly enjoyed Jennifer Ryan's previous book, The Wedding Dress Sewing Circle I was thrilled to get my hand on The Underground Library - from sewing to books, two of my favourite things! In this story we follow three strong women, all finding purpose and solace in the library.  When the library in Bethnal Green in London is hit by the bombs during the second world war, they are threatened with closure, but the deputy librarian Juliet and the other staff have other plans. They are determined to keep the library going, to provide a safe and welcoming place for the locals, helping them escape from the horrors of the nightly bombings.  With more and more people taking shelter in the underground station, Juliet and her team move as many books as they can there and the underground library is born providing a social place for everyone to meet. Based on various true event, with the freedom of a fiction writer, Jennifer Ryan has created another amazing story which drags you ...
