Hello! So glad you popped by

I love reading and try to read a mixture of fiction and factual books, so you'll be able to find a wide range of book reviews on this site.  Working in a high paced role I read both for work (leadership, science, politics, business, etc) and to relax (general and historical fiction, and some sappy romance when the mood requires it). The genres and subjects are always rather random as I am easily distracted by reading recommendations from friends and family as well as by the weird and wonderful algorithms on Amazon, Goodreads, NetGalley and Google.  Most of the books reviewed have been obtained from NetGalley so you'll be able to sometimes spot books here before they are available in the shops. From time to time I subscribe to Kindle Unlimited, other times I borrow ebooks from my local library or buy 'real books' from local bookshops or charity shops. I hope you enjoy my reviews! Regrets of the Dying by Georgina Scull

This is a book I'd highly recommend you read. I also believe it would be great as a discussion starter for a group of close friends (or complete strangers!). It is a very poignant, and sometimes hard to read book, but full of small nuggets which will have something for everyone to be aware of and to incorporate in daily life before it's too late. It's about choosing life rather than fearing dying.  Having thoroughly enjoyed the books by Kathryn Mannix on tender conversations with the end in mind and how to actively listen, I was thoroughly looking forward to reading Regrets of the Dying by Georgina Scull as I was hoping to pick up a few ideas of what I may be able to tweak in my own life to ensure there are no(t so many) regrets at the end. The book is divided into five main sections - Work, Friends & Family, Love, Hard Decisions, Reflections - each consisting of a few stories loosely connected to that theme. At the very end of the book Georgina Scull is sharing her ow...

Level With Me by Claire Wilder

Building a successful wife and husband company together with his old friend Lila, Blake is seeking revenge on his ever dominating father. Lila on the other hand is hiding who she really is, putting her energy into making a successful business with the help of Brynn, the third person in the company.  Everything comes to a head when they are called in to try to rescue the struggling family business of Cassandra and her siblings.  Blake and Cass meet by chance before the assignment starts and the chemistry is off the charts. Cass is horrified when she learns that Blake is their very married turn-around consultant. This is the first book in the series and Wilder has created a great structure to build future books on. Little do we know now, which of the many clues mentioned in passing will form the key tenants for her future instalments in the saga about the Kelly family. There definitely are enough characters and personalities to make this an intriguing and exciting series t...
