The Bridges and Bitters series by Lainey Davis - FOUR books!

Four amazing books, all with strong female leads and somewhat grumpy male partners.  The women in the Bridges and Bitters series form a tight-knit family-by-choice, and they are fiercely loyal to each other; mess with one, and you mess with them all. They gather in Esther's bar to support one another's goals; whether those are related to career, friendships, or love. The girls' WhatsApp group is called FOOF, which stands for Fresh Out Of F**ks, and it's frightfully busy when something is happening...  I have read these books as they have been published and thoroughly enjoyed them all! Now is your chance to enter the world of Sam, Chloe, Esther and Piper. Book 4: LAST CALL will be available on 29 June 2023, the others are available now.  Book 1: FIREBALL Sam is the CEO of a very successful tech startup and she is trying to make amends with AJ, a middle school science teacher focusing on creating opportunities for his students - including a visit to Sam's flashy tech ...

Captivated by Callie by Jennifer Bishop

Captivated by Callie by Jennifer Bishop is the first book in the Flamingo Cove series.  Devon Steel, as retired military returns to Flamingo Cove to start his new boating business.  Callie Hargraves is on the run and hopes that Flamingo Cove will be a safe place to hide out. Things don't always go to plan and they soon realise that there is some attraction that is hard to resist between them. Unfortunately Callie's past is catching up with her, and Devon ends up having to help her stay safe.  Easy read, a bit of romance, a few smiles, feel good and enjoyable.  #CaptivatedbyCallie #NetGalley

Embrace the Lace by Shannon MacLeod

Paisley Evangeline Darling (Van for short) attends a renaissance festival in the US, but somehow ends up in a pond in Scotland and is rescued by Andrew MacIver. Not only has she travelled across the world, she's also travelled in time - back to the 17th century. Add in some more low level magic, a nasty uncle and women competing for Andrew's reluctant hand in marriage.  Highly entertaining story with some slow romance and Van getting stuck into her new life and improving operations at Andy's castle.  This book is available now!  PS. I am not really sure what inspired the title of this book. #EmbraceTheLace #NetGalley

Dark Horizon by James Swallow

Another amazeballs book by James Swallow!!! I absolutely LOVE when James Swallow's books pops up on Netgalley as I know they are going to be fantastic to read.  Pace, intrigue, well developed characters, unexpected turns, and satisfactory ending! Dark Horizon delivers on all of the above points! Kate Hood left the military in disgrace and she is now working as a contract pilot for a private jet company doing the luxury flights only the mega rich can afford.  Late one evening, she's called in to do a flight which normally would have been taken by one of her colleagues but as he didn't show up, the pressure is on her to step up. She quickly realises that this flight is not like the others she has done for the company and she's very reluctant to go through with it; that is until she realises that she doesn't really have a choice! Thank you to NetGalley and Welbeck Publishing for allowing me to read this eARC. The book is due to be published on 25 May 2022, but you can ...

Mr Jerk by Leslie North

RELEASED TODAY!!!! Not really Mr Jerk at all! It feels like the title was set to match the others in the series, or heavily rewritten after the title was selected?! In true style of the "Leslie North writer collective", this is another easy to read, feel good romance story that will help you kill a few hours, bring some smiles, and make sure you cheer on the girl gang. I see that it's currently available on Kindle Unlimited, so if you're already a subscriber, why not download it and escape for a few hours. I was given a free copy to review by Netgalley.  #MrJerk #NetGalley

Lies and Other Love Languages by Sonali Dev

How far would you go to help your BEST friend?  This is an emotional and boundary-pushing story of Vandy and her best friend Rani. How decisions made when they were younger now affects Vandy's daughter Mallika and thoroughly shakes her to the core. Set in the US and India, it's rich on Indian culture, expectations and norms - all skilfully crafted into a compelling and hard-to-put-down story. It's like peeling an onion layer by layer, as we step by step get more and more information about what happened almost 30 years ago. I loved the life lessons shared in the voice of Vardy, the strong independence shown by Mallika and the sacrifices made by Rani. Sonalu Dev has created a beautiful story, led by three strong women, and with supporting acts from the many aunts, uncles, and other family members preparing for two large Indian weddings.  Lies and Other Love Languages by Sonali Dev will be available on 26 September 2023, but you can preorder your copy now. A Real Somebody by Deryn Collier

The war is over and the Grant family has ended up on harder times. The father can no longer work and June (the unmarried daughter) starts working as one of the girls in the steno pool at a well known advertising firm; head down and take notes... Not the easiest, when she really wants to be is a writer in her own right; but that is not what is expected by her family, or society for that matter - and they need the income! Her older sister, Daisy, is married with two children and seems to have it all - at least according to the expectations at the time. I liked how this story is based on the true story of Collier's aunt, and how she managed to create a, for her, more fulfilling life than what marriage and children would have offered. We all want/ need different things and there is no life that would fit everyone. A Real Somebody by Deryn Collier will be available on 11 July 2023, but you can preorder your copy now. If you use my link below, I get a small percentage of your purchase (a...
