Tit Me With Your Best Shot by Chantal Roome

Tit me with your best shot, by Chantal Roome is part of the shared Tuft Swallow world series - a cosy small town keen on bird jokes - with rom-com stories written by seven different authors.  Tina's Italian Mama is worried about her darling daughter not having married and popped out a handful of children already, but Tina is adamant that she's not interested in dating, and even less so settling down and giving up her independent life as the business owner of Wings and Pizza in Tuft Swallow.  Nick “Odd Duck” (yes, he does collect rubber ducks), has retired from his successful MMA career and is establishing himself back in Tuft Swallow, looking to start a family, run his gym business, excel (oh well, be ok) at cornhole and grow his already large collection of rubber ducks. Roome's contribution to the Tuft Swallow series is as funny and heartwarming as the other books I have read in the series. Just the right amount of romance, complications, laughs, goat and meddling family a...

Rolling Toward Clear Skies by Catherine Ryan Hyde

Maggie and Alex volunteer with "Doctors on Wheels" to help victims of natural disasters. During a hurricane relief effort, they encounter Jean and Rose, two teenage sisters who have lost their parents.  Maggie feels a connection with the girls and decides to foster them, much to the disapproval of her own daughters Willa & Gemma.  Throughout the book, the contrast between the entitled Willa and Gemma, and the orphaned sisters Jean & Rose is stark. The socio economic differences are just one part on the tensions, more so seems to be the fact that Jean and Rose are polite, grateful, and hardworking, despite recently having lost their parents and having to adapt to a new life. Willa and Gemma are just spoiled, superior and annoyingly entitled.  A deeply thought-provoking a touching story, in the end bringing out the best in everyone.   Rolling Toward Clear Skies by Catherine Ryan Hyde will be released on 12 November 2024.

Fowl Play by Cassandra Medcalf

FOWL PLAY by Cassandra Medcalf is part of the shared Tuft Swallow world series, with stories written by seven different authors.  Cornhole, I had never heard of this "sport", but apparently it's a BIG thing in Tuft Swallow, so much so that you need to practise repeatedly during the week and hours at a time - all for a game where you toss a little bag towards a target... Kodi, The Ice Queen, is the cornhole captain and a right slave driver, pushing the team  through their gruesome training sessions.  Brian is the new-to-town chiropractor who's outed as gay during his first week. Working with Kodi to move the focus from his recently failed relationship, their fake relationship is soon not so fake.  Lily is THE BEST FRIEND EVER, it's just a shame Kodi is so tied up in her own struggles to see it. Everyone needs a Lily! In similar style as That's Cockatoo Much by Kristin MacQueen, there is plenty of (somewhat) corny bird related names and puns!! Unfortunately ther...

That's Cockatoo Much by Kristin MacQueen

That's Cockatoo Much by Kristin MacQueen is the first book in a shared world series, with stories written by seven different authors.  Delilah left Tuft Swallow ten years ago and as she never planned on coming back she cut off all contact with everyone except with her Aunt Jane. Unfortunately Aunt Jane needs help running her salon so Delilah is returning to keep the business running.  Entering the town she manages to make quite a stir... crashing a police patrol vehicle to avoid a goat walking on the hight street...  Jonah is the police chief and Delilah's ex husband and he has never stopped loving her - even after one of his patrol cars gets crashed into on her unexpected return to town.  Mis communication, hastily drawn conclusions, second chances, small town life and GOSSIP by the Tit Peepers, make this story a real hoot (pun intended...).   "This woman always was the sole focus of my attention, how did I live without her for so long? You didn’t, you idi...
